INNOVATIONS

Anticipating future mobility trends

For more than 50 years, APRR has worked tirelessly to enhance the travel experience by upgrading the network, improving safety and increasing motorists’ comfort

Mobility needs and expectations are constantly changing. The status of private cars is shifting, transport needs are changing and technological advances are disrupting the travel experience and our perception of time. We place a high priority on innovation as a lever for overcoming the challenges entailed by these changes.

We encourage all employees to contribute to  the Group’s innovation policy. Because we firmly believe in the strength of this  collaborative model, we are also initiating research with independent partners, to prepare for tomorrow’s motorways and services.

INNOVATION CULTURE AND COMPETITIVENESS

Innovation is an integral part of Eiffage and APRR’s business culture. The two groups predict major social trends and harness new technologies in their effort to devise new mobility solutions and hone their competitiveness.
This commitment is reflected in the Group’s organisation, which fosters and rewards employees’ innovative flair in improving the travel experience.

START.LAB, THE APRR INNOVATION PROGRAMME

Disruptive changes such as smart vehicles, urban tolls, ecomobility and multimodal transport create challenges that must be tackled by APRR. Over a 16-month period, 110 employees were assigned to Start.lab workshops tasked with imagining and designing tomorrow’s motorways and services.
The aim of this brainstorming exercise is to anticipate changes in motorway infrastructures, upgrade the services provided to customers and adapt the motorway concession operator business.

INNOVATION IN PRACTICE

A combination of social change and technological revolutions is prompting a profound shift in our attitude to travel.
In response to these changes, APRR is supporting the development of new means of transport (ecomobility) and new practices such as car pooling and car sharing.
