Raising awareness

Every year, the Group organises information and awareness-raising campaigns to draw motorists’ attention to recurrent accident factors such as sleepiness, inappropriate tyre pressure, excessive speed and non-compliance with seatbelt regulations.

Considerable resources are dedicated to these campaigns:
  • posters at toll-plaza entries and in rest areas and service areas;
  • distribution of leaflets and magazines;
  • summer and winter displays/activities in rest areas and service areas;
  • messages on motorway information panels;
  • messages and reports on Autoroute INFO

The divisions, districts and operational centres of the Group’s companies show their commitment to promoting safety by organising opportunities for interaction with school groups, university students, local authorities and companies.

Tools for preventing road risks

The Sécurodrome, which is the first awareness-raising centre for motorway safety, is located on the Les Jonchets-les-Récompenses service area of the A5 motorway, 80 km from Paris. It gives passing customers, school groups, companies, etc. an opportunity to use equipment that provides a striking insight into safety issues. Visitors can try simulators, a rollover car, eye tests, drink-driving simulation, reflex test and so on.

Centaure centres for training and accident prevention:

Centaure centres provide training and awareness-raising as regards road risks. These centres, spread across the French national network, are managed jointly by the motorway companies and the Groupama insurance group. They provide a variety of risk situations – e.g. aquaplaning, impact, blowouts and loss of control – which can be experienced in complete safely.
