By 2035, 100% of new cars sold will be "zero emissions"

Reducing the motorway’s carbon footprint means allowing this new generation of motorists to use their vehicles over long distances. This is why since 2012 we have committed to a plan to deploy charging points that is being expanded today. Since the end of 2022, 100% of the 98 APRR and AREA motorway service areas have been equipped with fast charge or ultra fast charge electric charging stations.
APRR and AREA motorways are now the first motorway operator to announce full coverage of all its service areas.
We are speeding up the deployment of high-performance technologies on our networks so that everyone can consider electric travel with ease. This is one step closer to a zero-emissions motorway.

Electric transport for HGVs

HGVs are responsible for 27% of transport-related CO2 emissions, despite accounting for just 1.3% of vehicles on the road in France. Faced with this challenge, ENGIE, a leader in the energy transition, and APRR, France’s second-largest motorway network, have announced the deployment of 5 ultra fast charge stations dedicated to electric lorries and long-distance coaches. This initiative is a first in France and marks an important step in the development of electric travel and zero-emissions means of transport.
In the summer of 2024, APRR will open 5 electric charging stations dedicated to HGVs in strategic areas along the A6 Paris-Lyon route.
